WHITEHAIR Co. | SS/14 PRESS DAY

The Whitehair Co. Press day was a delight as it had a very interesting mix of designers who's collections were on show on the day. As I entered, the first collection that jumped at me was the HEMYCA London SS/14 collection. Not only because of the dominating blacks and creams which are amougst my most favorite colour palettes to wear but also because of the fantastic mix and play of fabric that was used on the pieces.

The other thing that was really amazing was the awesome HEMYCA App which allowed us to see the collection pieces in action on the runway by simply scanning the barcodes attached to each garment. It was a very innovative collection with stunning design elements that showed foward-thinking, class and longevity. (See my favourite pieces below)

YANNY LONDON

Another collection with stole my eye was by Yanny London and had vintage inspired feminine pieces and modernist silhouettes creating a timeless wardrobe for the modern woman. Is was a very fun, classic and city chic collection which carried various elements displaying a range that had something for every woman. I particularly loved the most the bright coloured and detailed looks. From colbalt blue to yellow to orange, what palette could make a more perfect Spring/Summer wardrobe.

The highlights for me from Yanny London had to be the top two pieces; the yellow peplum top and cobalt blue waistcoat. I can already picture some really great looks with these ie. A great pair of tapered white trousers, peep-toes and statement necklace - would do for either day or evening.

FELDER FELDER

I instantly fell in love with the Felder Felder quilted blue dress because it was just super-girly but edgy at the same time. It would totally make a great cocktail look! Imagine; hair sleeked back with some killer heels and statement box clutch - 'Say Magnifique!' I really wanted to try it on but I was running on a tight schedule (as you do during press days) but I definitely got my eye on this baby. It's absolutely stunning and a very effortlessly chic number. This dress really summarized for me what the Felder Felder SS/14 collection was about which was the manipulation of fabric to create something new and innovation. Their play on texture and print was absolutely phenomenal and something the duo do best. The psychedelic prints definitely reflected on the wonders at the bottom of the ocean, something mystical and so rare which showed in the aquatic theme at the heart of the collection.

AMY SIA

Amy Sia on the other hand had a fantastic line of silk scarves all in dreamy prints and bold colours. Another thing that was so great about her collection was the matching mobile phone cases that were inspired by each print. How amazing! I also liked the multi-functionality of the scarves; that's always a great element and you can use them however you want. Great for those spring nights or perfect on holiday as a wrap or sarong.
