LFW: YEASHIN | SS/14

There was something reminiscent of a Russian Dollhouse at Yeashin’s SS14 show. From the troika soundtrack setting the tone to the flushed pink cheeks and plaited hairstyles, there was certainly a feel of a beautiful innocence floating in the air. Smock dresses filtered through the room, candy pink with blue beads holding the puffed sleeves around the elbow and mint green chiffon sleeves, pleated skirt details with red ribbons adding to this doll theme. Embroided floral middle panels and organza boleros with leaf applique, suggestive of a new born spring.

The miniature white top hats finished off the looks quite nicely almost in a toy soldier meets Russian doll kind of way as well as sailor boy hats with a lace overlay infusing a childlike wonder. Silhouettes were kept slightly loose with feminine sleeves and shirt hemlines. Gold bodices with sky blue, candy pink and mint green pleats and finally milk chocolate covered panels - It was Yeashin’s SS14 narrative is one of a confectionery dream.
