ONES TO WATCH | YULIA KONDRANINA AW/13

Ones to Watch designers never cease to amaze and season after season we are presented with a fresh set of new designers with amazing talent and just brimming with potential. I especially liked Yulia Kondranina's AW/13 Collection because it was the one that was the most  unique and complex amongst this seasons 'Ones to Watch' designers. The main material used was full length viscose-fringing, and Kondranina really showed off her skill and creativity by presenting a large array of varying designs. Starting out monochrome, strands of fringing fell to the floor creating fluidity similar to the tentacles of a jellyfish. As the collection became more colourful with dresses appearing in interweaving primary colours, the designs also seemed to increase in complexity. From falling off the shoulders like a cape to twisting like a web over backless blazers, the strings of viscose were both pulled tight and left to hang in ways that accentuated different parts of the body. Technically brilliant, the last of these ‘One’s to Watch’ winners delivered an experimental show that was full of movement - Loved the entire collection and show from all the designers but  Yulia Kondranina's was definitely my most favourite.
