At the stroke of New York Fashion Week, the Fashion Industry was struck by shocking and tragic news of the death of a great designer - Alexander McQueen. It was extremely unexpected news and I remember before hearing the cause of his death I wondered what and why? It was a sad day and confusing day & a huge loss not only to his family but to the industry and fans across the globe. Each season I look forward to his show because it is always a mystery what his show may unfold. McQueen had an extraordinary imagination and his collections were limitless; each time taking the world on a journey of whimsical story-tell and he continued to deliver collection after collection of wonderous and spectacular designs. He was known for his innovative designs, dramatic statement pieces and magnificent tailoring techniques and he influenced an entire generation of designers. His work was loved by many and his talent is utterly irreplaceable. He will be solely missed and his memory will continue to live on among us - Alexander 'Lee' McQueen was only 40 years old - May he Rest in Peace!
