MICHAEL ANGEL A/W10

The Michael Angel runway featured looks inspired by Francesco Scuvallo, Degas and stained glass windows. I loved the draped mohair jackets and alpaca skirts that had his signature digital prints which made an appearance later-on in the show. He played with alot of texture and layering and the end result was well constructed, sophisticated and beautiful garments. What stood out most were the dark graphic prints on well fitted dresses on which the construction was impeccable.

Titled the 'New Eccentric, the collection's dusty palatte had bursts of saturated hue's ranging from warm mochas, to greys, navy-blue, khaki's and black made for a feminine feel with an attitude. His approach on print this season was on a whole new level but his signature was still evident in the collection which I liked. The laser cut pieces which were layered over a few garments were a big highlight and the mini dresses that showed towards the finale when uber chic and sexy. Overall the collection presented a new Michael Angel girl who was pretty'n'polished with a bit of rebel-chic and I think she may just be the right fit for the Michael Angel brand.
