Checks are not only a thing of the passing summer, they are also fabulous for the autumn/winter season. Checks have evolved far from being just a trend, they have been around for longer than I can remember and continue to show year after year. They are very versatile and can be worn in the day, evening, night and through seasons for that matter - it's all about sticking to the right colour palette. So I decided to experiment with my little puff-ball check dress and not only came out with one but four other looks plus others. I like how a simple dress can be turned into something more and worn to different occasions or places for example to work/shopping and then to an early diner even a night out. It's the result of good money well spent when you find yourself with one garment you can wear to several places and I think with the credit crunch in full force we might all want to start thinking about investing in wardrobe staples that will take us through the good times and the bad and I've found that in my little check dress.
Quick tip: It's all in the mix and the pieces that you chose to incorporate into your desired look to create maximum impact. Play around with shoes, accessories, colour and layers. Keep it simple and chic and if it ever gets colder, just throw on a plain mid-length coat. N.B: Don't try and match too hard, you want the garment to stand-out.
