Shoe company or record company?: Converse releases free tune to celebrate 100th B-day!

Hip-hip, hurray! - Fashion meets music in Converse collaboration

Fashion and Music are two worlds that have had a long standing and influential relationship for a very long time and have been working in closer collaboration in the past and recent years more than ever before. So to
honour it’s 100th birthday celebration, US footwear brand Converse has joined forces this season with Pharrell Williams and his band N*E*R*D, Santogold and Julian Casablancas to create a music track called 'My Drive Thru' which was released on Tuesday ( June 10th) as a free exclusive download at www.converse.com and at authorised Converse websites across the globe. The music video however, will not be released until later on this summer, and the song will be promoted as Three Artists, One Song through Converse print, outdoor and online advertising. If you own an iPod which I’m sure you do, what are you waiting for? To preview the track you can follow the picture video link at the end of this post or visit the converse website straight away to get your free track. Sounds like this tune might be a big hit for the summer but you can be the judge of that – I mean who doesn’t love Converse?

The campaign also features up-and-coming music names including Kid Sister, YACHT and Bradford Cox.
